How long will my permanent makeup last?

Permanent makeup is long-lasting. But just like any other tattoo, cosmetic tattoos (particularly eyebrows in muted or golden browns) will soften and slowly fade over time as the top layer of the skin continually gets replaced. Especially as you become accustomed to having your new makeup, it’s not uncommon to want periodic maintenance, color re-enhancement or color refreshing every few years. Exactly how long depends on the individual. Unprotected exposure to UV light, certain medications, smoking, dry climate, excessively dry skin, and anything meant to exfoliate or have the ability to lighten your skin or hair can all prematurely fade your cosmetic tattoo. Taking good care of your skin will greatly prolong the life of your tattoos.
